For HVAC and trade shops
Leak rates and renewal dates, worked out for you.
Since January 1, 2026, the AIM Act leak repair rule covers HFC systems holding 15 lb or more. Every refrigerant addition means a leak-rate calculation, and a rate over the trigger starts a 30-day repair clock.
What the rule asks of you
| Appliance type | Repair trigger |
|---|---|
| Comfort cooling, transport, other | 10% |
| Commercial refrigeration | 20% |
| Industrial process refrigeration | 30% |
Source: 40 CFR 84.106. Always confirm against the regulation.
What's here today
The calculator handles both accepted methods, annualizing and rolling 12-month. It shows the trigger for your appliance type, the repair deadline from the date you added refrigerant, and a record you can print for the job file.
Nothing you enter is stored.
